Why SEO SpyGlass finds no backlinks?

There are three different modes in SEO SpyGlass: Domain only, Domain and subdomains, or Exact URL. If you've created the project for the exact URL, the app will only search for backlinks leading to that exact page.

If your homepage is, for instance, domain.com/index.php, you should still create the project for domain.com - otherwise, the app will automatically switch to the Exact URL mode.

If you're using SEO PowerSuite Link Explorer, it may happen that there's no backlink data for some of the websites in our Index yet.

The reason may be that the backlinks have been obtained recently, or the linking websites may not have too many backlinks of their own, which slows the crawling down.

Basically, the reason is that all backlink tools are providing the data harvested by their crawlers that surf the Web incessantly, yet it may take up to several months (depending on the service) for a crawler to reach all the corners of the Web and find all the newly-gained backlinks.

For that reason, SEO SpyGlass allows you to connect your Search Console and Google Analytics accounts apart from using our Link Index to get the fullest possible data (chances are high that some source will provide a number of links that another one hasn't found yet and vice versa), as well as load any backlinks to your SEO SpyGlass project manually.

After loading the links to your project, you may run real-time verification to see the actual current status of each and every backlink.

In case you've connected your Google Analytics or Google Search Console, and the app doesn't find any backlinks to your website there, please follow the guide to make sure the accounts are connected properly.

When running an outdated version of the app, you may come across any bug that's been fixed long ago or miss some of the feature updates, crucial for proper functioning.

Make sure you download and install the current version of SEO SpyGlass.

• Make sure you have a stable Internet connection with no interruptions. If you're using a VPN on your PC, disable it temporarily.
• Make sure carefully that the software is not being blocked by any kind of anti-virus or Firewall/Defender; add the following files to the exception list of the protection app:
  1. javaw.exe
  2. seospyglass.exe
• If you're using a proxy in the app under Preferences > Proxy Settings, disable it temporarily, too.

Restart the app and try creating/rebuilding the project anew.

Without the active Search Algo Updates subscription, SEO SpyGlass cannot access the SEO PowerSuite Link Explorer database to gather the backlinks.
